now attacking, it is simple, stacks as i said contain 6 types of ships when they go to battle it works like this: You 1st will attack enemy 1st,then vice versa Your 2nd will attack enemy 2nd, then vice versa now when it reachs your 7th stack they have no direct target so they will randomly attack one enemy stack (if flankers will take no damage back) now onto op, op works like this: you can only receive 4 stacks as reinforcements 1 from vassals and 3 from your fed mates. You can only receive 25% or lower of your pr in each stack when you are attacked. the op stacks will join your fleet and slot them selfs where ever there order of pr sets them. so if your fleet is same as above and a 22mil stack of op arrives it will go to the top of your stack. this can be used to your advantage in a few ways. when build your stack for defence look at the op available and build around it, if you see 3 stacks of 50mil Def ships then build your top stack under that pr and keep top 3 def while bottom 3 stay ofence. the three stacks sent to 7th-9th stacks will be out of direct combat and will move round to attack enemy (note some ships can return fire and damage bottom stacks after they attack) so use Flankers (again look at ship list, ships with both return fire and longrange are flankers and will take no returning fire when out of direct combat.) best way for a win is this: Def Def Def Def Def Def Off (Flanker) Off (Flanker) Off (Flanker) Top 6 stacks will engage enemy and take little damage while bottom three ill flank and massively damage while in turn taking no damage. now finally a bit of advice. 1. when out of dp disband all outpost ships and build ships on your main. 2. get your self a minister for war (http://www.freewebs.com/bloodlinemanual/ministers.htm) minister traits explained. 3.only post op when in dp 4. rebuild lost ships after every battle hope this info helps any question fire away and i will help further.. and sorry it is so long winded =P

Get rid of the Aries, their range sux.

If you are attacking, blogger`s stack looks perfect to me.
If you are camping (waiting for dp), use another c class or small fodders instead of f class.

For c class, best is Taurus, 2nd best Cancer or Gemini.
